Hidden gems

My usual morning walk was pretty uneventful, so I was pleasantly surprised to glance  to my right and see a splash of pink in the midst of greenery. On closer inspection I saw a wild rose bush overtaken by weeds. The rose pedals were wilting, but I wondered why it’s beauty was left neglected  rather than be highlighted and enjoyed. 
      I felt a life lesson happen just then….often our beauty within can be overlooked or dismissed, as the cares of life happen. Actually, life can become so demanding of our time and energy that the focus easily go there.  Consequently, the beauty within each of us  can be left to grow small or wither away without the light and nourishment needed to thrive.
